Likely dirty depleted uranium already run through commercial fission reactors becoming dirty with plutonium by the formula that fission nuclear reactors produce abundant slow neutrons that u238 captures changing uranium u238 to plutonium pu239, was put through a centrifuge to enrich still significant content of uranium 235 in this plutonium dirty depleted uranium and this contaminated the certrifuges with pu239 trace element. Following this dirty plutonium contaminated depleted uranium was used as tampers for nuclear fission and fusion bombs. Later uranium out of the mountain and yellow cake free of any plutonium as plutonium is a non earth element was run through these contaminated centrifuges for u235 enrichment and was thus trace contaminated by plutonium by contact with the centrifuges in what would be harmless quantities of trace pu239 element and then the depleted uranium obtained in this process harmlessly tainted with plutonium was used in the manufacture of war shells. This appears prima faci the way it has happened and for practical purposes there is no plutonium in war shell depleted uranium (only harmless trace element) and thus this throws the burden of Gulf War Syndrome on the extreme heat generated when depleted uranium strikes any metal and vaporizes all metals it strikes, vapors being toxic individually and in combinations, and chemical productions by the elements also relevant given these toxic fine metal dusts. This is prima faci and we can not rule out plutonium in Gulf Syndrome yet but perhaps we can. Yet it can not yet be said that there was not marginal mix up of this early depleted uranium used in the era of FAT MAN and IVY MIKE. Can we say authoritatively this early depleted uranium was clean from plutonium as is today depleted uranium which is plutonium free. No we can not using common sense nor can we can take the opposite point of view that it was plutonium contaminated either. At some point in time beginning with FAT MAN and IVY MIKE was dirty plutonium depleted uranium containing more than a harmless trace element of pu239 used in depleted uranium shell casings? It may have been but testing so far gives harmless trace element of plutonium pu239 only. Thus reiterating plutonium prima faci is not a factor in Gulf War Syndrome illness. And pu239 dirty depleted uranium as a percentage concept has little meaning when it is employed as part a fission or fusion nuclear bomb and let us hope some person did not mix up this percentage concept and employ this type of depleted uranium in conventional depleted uranium shell casings. It can not. To explode with nuclear force it has to surround directly an exploding nuclear bomb either fission or fusion type exposed first to the heat of the sun as fission and fusion are the heat of the sun, fusion the inner core heat of the sun. In more non nuclear basic terms however conventional, depleted uranium war shell casings provide the hotest heat on earth when they strike various metals and uranium is a metal itself. Multiple types of metals including the uranium in the shell casings are changed into vapors by this extrordinary heat. The hypothesis is thus Gulf War Syndrome is an illness caused by a combination of toxic fumes of various vaporized metals changed into dust by the depleted uranium shell casing strike. Plutonium pu239 should not take a second seat and at the same time not be looked at as primary. And in any case worthless dirty uranium that has already been run through a commercial nuclear fission reactor to produce electricity for the public and which contains plutonium is no longer mixed with expensive totally plutonium free shell casings of depleted uranium produced as a byproduct of uranium u235 enrichment. That is, depleted uranium today used in war shell casings is not dirty uranium but is 100% clean of plutonium. And uranium a relatively common metal is not poisonous to people any more than many other common metals when not inhaled in dense vaporized quantities. That it is being a misconception. On the other side of the picture plutonium is very poisonous to people. The purpose of Iraq Gulf War 1 of the early 1990's was to liberate the nation of Kuwait which had been taken in military action by Iraq to produce world money - for Iraq. Because they are very superior depleted uranium shell casings were employed militarily in returning Kuwait to itself. Without depleted uranium shell casings the U.S. would be flying the Russia or China flag. Neither Russia or China is going to get rid of their depleted uranium shell casings. The nation of Chile in South America did the same thing as Iraq in the taking of the Bolivia coastline for gunpowder minerals found there in enormously rich deposits for the production of world money for Chile. Both Iraq and Chile used insult as pretext. President George Bush Sr. did not attack Chile and repatriate the coast line to Bolivia. Depleted uranium shell casings are the perfect weapon for the U.S. to employ against Santiago to return to Bolivia it's coastline. Bolivia is a much more important nation than Kuwait. Militarily who controls Bolivia controls South America using only one Gatlin gun Bolivia is that militarily stratigic. If our U.S. Senators and House members would keep away from the Martinis and actually get out and travel Bolivia as I have they would see it. Chile evolved into being a friend of the U.S. however and Iraq went the other way. The U.S. likes bankrobbers who are friends and dislikes bankrobbers who are not friends. Chile is a bankrobber. Iraq was a bankrobber. It follows the liberation of Kuwait by George Bush St. was not noble. It was not for U.S. national interests but was personalized by a president. It was a Saudi field marshall Osama Bin Laden - the only real field marshall in fact Saudi Arabia has - who asked the royal family of Saudi Arabia to let him liberate Kuwait from Iraq. There was not question he would have liberated it but it would have taken two years to three years and George Bush Jr. could do it in months saving Saudi Arabia much money. He anticipated being the commander in charge of the Kuwait liberation and expected the U.S. to supply him. Saudi Arabia had different ideas. People can change. And there was absolutely not need for Osama Bin Laden. It was in his imagination. The Kuwait expatriats in 9-12 months supplied by the U.S. could have mopped up easily - as they knew - Iraq in Kuwait. There was no conceivable need in the eyes of God for a U.S. - Iraq War 1 except to promote the idea that the U.S. following Vietnam was back on course. A publicity stunt. When in fact it had regressed. There is too much in the U.S. of grabbing the little guy (little nations) by the collar and shaking him while at the same time staring mean looking over the shoulder of the little guy at China. The same thing is applicable in the U.S. as in old Russia but under a different political setting and system where Lenin writes he will choose Stalin over Trotsky if Stalin will improve his gross unclutured personality (Stalin spent four years at Jesuit college as a young man before all this), because Trotsky gives Russia bed bugs. The nation must chose to it's best when electing John McCain or Barak Obama not to elect another bed bugs president. (Plutonium pu239 is not an earth element. Man has created pu239 in fission reactors. It did not exist before fission reactors on earth. There is much plutonium in fine dust in the sky now from nuclear explosions and explosions of convention weapons with hardened shells of depleted uranium. When a shell explodes 30-35% of the depleted uranium goes into the atmosphere as fine dust. Uranium, natural or it's u238 relative to it's u235 content enriched, before it is put into the fission reactor contains no plutonium. The processes of enriching uranium do not produce slow neutrons to bombard u238 which can capture a slow neutron upon which it changes itself to plutonium pu239. Fission reactors produce slow neutrons producing plutonium pu239 and this process as the enriched uranium is burned for commercial generated uranium is where the world gets its plutonium from. No where else. There are no plutonium deposits on earth and plutonium is not, reiterating, an earth element. This is slow neutron bombardment of uranium 238 in a "fission reactor" that produces plutonium pu239 and it may be that slow neutron bombardment outside of the reactor occurring in nature also restructures u238 into pu239. An example Lunar Prospector orbiting around the moon detected "slow neutrons" emitted into space by the moon's surface. Some of these moon bred slow neutrons will strike in the earth's crust uranium u238 atoms, be captured by the u238 atom, and it will change itself to plutonium u239 - in theory (theory as this is not a fission man made reactor but a nature sequence). However if it happens it is theoretical. The world has not developed technical capability to detect isolated atoms of plutonium. We can detect atmospheric contamination of the earths crust and waters from plutonium fallout but this is much more than an isolated plutonium atom. Thus that plutonium is created by nature sequence is theoretical. It probably is but we have never actually detected this nature created plutonium on earth. We have only detected plutonium plutonium of origin created in the fission of uranium in the commercial reactors which becomes part of the depleted uranium left over in the reactor burn to produce electricity. Plutonium detected in depleted uranium used in shell casings and the 30-35% of the shell casing that burns to atmospheric dust is of a level such that it's origin is that depleted uranium that had been burned in a fission reactor was subsequently mixed in with depleted uranium that had no plutonium content because it had never been burned in a fission reactor. This is not a legitimate process. Somebody has made money for the bigger swimming pool or not spent money in the case of Washington, or both, given this non legitimate process. It is likely both and it is unquentionably contra Washington taking over the U.S. health sysetm. As that is what the U.S. health system will be. It is wise that Washington has it's legitimate input. But nothing additional............. In nature uranium content of the earth surface is low in most places in the U.S. However in some places in the U.S. in proximity to uranium ore deposits uranium found on the earth surface is high and uranium is abundant in the dust breathed in those areas. People are as healthy in these high uranium dust areas as in the low uranium dust areas. People show no adverst affects. Uranium is a realatively common metal found in the earth crust and like many metals can be toxic in high concentrations but no higher than the many metals. People are simply not harmed by uranium in the earth's crust anywhere. Thus Gulf War Syndrome may be caused by very very high man made above the highest nature content of uranium dust in the atmosphere breathed in uranium which is toxic to the human body system like many metals. In this case it does not really matter what of the many potential metals or combinations of metals is causing the toxisity. It will not be uranium any more than the many other metals. Or it could be plutonium breathed in which is a non earth element and which God never thought any need to give people much resistance against. Thus he rested. God can not be expected to work 24 hours a day, 7 days a week, 12 months a year. It makes sense. Why not(see page title)! Cheap plutonium pu239 is expensive to bury 1,000 feet deep. It is much cheaper to hide it by mixing it with and in weapons casings of clean depleted uranium never reactor fissioned with slow neutrons that change inert u238 to pu239. The cost savings mean bigger bonuses. Example of bigger bonuses those banking executives in the mortgage market who the past few years have each yearly been taking 100 million dollar bonuses for their expertise. Now the U.S. Congress wants to buy Government shares in the banks. Suerte! At least Abrams tanks are made of clean depleted uranium with none of it reactor fissioned depleted uranium containing plutonium. There is no plutonium in the natural uranium depleted uranium comes from. Plutonium is not an earth element. U.S. Abrams tanks are made of depleted uranium and are said to have no plutonium trace. You can not lean against an Abrams and get plutonium dust in a skin lesion you have. Or breathing inhale plutonium dust off of the Abrams tank. If plutonium is not in Abrams tanks depleted hardened uranium metal then why is there plutonium in exploding conventional warheads casings made of depleted uranium. Uranium mountains do not contain plutonium any more than iron mountains contain plutonium. Plutonium is not an earth element. Iranian centrifuges when they enrich natural uranium to industrial grade uranium u235 do not produce plutonium. All plutonium on earth is reproduced from nuclear reactor fission heat when uranium u238 captures a produced by fission slow neutron and changes to plutonium pu239. Is it the case that that there really is no plutonium content in the depleted uranium used in conventional warhead weapons. Are the people against plutonium not telling us the truth? What is the truth.The truth is we would not provide plutonium to the enemy. But that is not a truth either. Depleted uranium scattered about Irak and Afghanistan in the tens of thousands of tons makes a good fuel for Iran's ARAK heavy water reactor when the economy is right - such as right now with gas being high in price. And depleted uranium fissioned in a nuclear heavy water reactor such as ARAK producing electricity for public consumption makes a ton of plutonium in the process by creation of slow nutrons which u238 generally inert uranium captures and recreates itself as plutonium pu239. This slow neutron capture by u238 which then changes to pu239 process is how we obtain all our plutonium on earth. The British have proven this plutonium can be easily exploded in a nuclear bomb just as it comes out of the reactor with no weapons grade refinement and good explosive efficiency (10,000kt versus 20,000kt). A FAT MAN (blueprint - design http://www.nationmaster.com/encyclopedia/Fat-Man ) is still today the most perfect pu239 compression plutonium bomb ever made. It's design with no changes can explode efficiently 30 pounds of weapons grade plutonium core or 2 pounds of weapons grade plutonium core with equal ease or 1 pound or one half pound of weapons grade plutonium core also with equal ease and no design change (although at these low values yields will decrease to 3kt, 1kt or 500 tons of TNT destructiveness). There was never any need for Robert Oppenheimer to test it as he knew it would work. It had already worked in the proving grounds. How much kt power it would develope over Nagasaki was a question. The military had to be satisfied. Yet the side walls casings of the very heavy natural FAT MAN uranium tamper (uranium as it comes out of the mountain or out of yellow cake so to commonly speak) had to be thinner than the front and rear casing to permit the bomb to fit through the bomber hatch over Nagasaki, and to reduce weight so the enormous weight of FAT MAN would not roll the bomber over on the way to Nagasaki into a dive into the Pacific. It was suerte for Nagasaki that the side walls of the very heavy natural tamper had to be thined down as this produced a tamper weakness and of roughly the thirteen pounds of weapons grade plutonium in the core of the bomb only roughly two pounds exploded in fission and of the remainder of the thirteen pounds of raw plutonium core (eleven pounds) was blown out of the bomb as non fission raw unexploded pu239 plutonium into the sky and ground below. The bomb can also be used with a two pound core of weapons grade pu239 plutonium and with efficient tamper (which do not exist for many reasons, economy one reason and practical limitations of design another with compromisation following) the explosion in kt value will come reasonably close to approximating Nagasaki bomb where two pounds went up in fission producing 20kt (twenty thousand tons of TNT explosive force by fission of just two pounds of pu239). Reiterating suerte for Nagasaki as had the tamper casing of natural uranium not been thinned on the side walls and been thicker overall the bomb would have produced probably 40kt. (A natural uranium tamper holds in the fission force of the weapons grade core towards achieving total fission which means much more destructive power and then in the chain reaction as the natural uranium tamper is one percent explosive u235 this tamper u235 explodes). Robert Oppenheimer met the minimum demands of the military. Of the team some thought the bomb would deliver in excess of 30kt. But Oppenheimer came the closest that the weapons grade core of pu239 would deliver 15kt explosive power and the natural uranium tamper 5kt explosive power = 20kt destructive power over Nagasaki. The Oppenheimer bomb with a good tamper will blow up whatever quantity of weapons grade plutonium pu239 is available and used in it down to a half pound of pu239. It is the perfect compression plutonium pu239 atomic bomb, remaining so today. There are advantages to a natural uranium tamper surrounding the weapons grade plutonium core, and disadvantages. Natural uranium is 99% inert u238 and 1% fissionable explosive u235 and as the core goes off in fission the tamper is honeycombed so to speak with 1% u235 which permits a blow out degree of non complete fission of the weapons grade core which is blown out of the bomb as raw unexploded non fission pu239. Depleted uranium may make a better tamper as it has less than half the percentage of u235 of natural uranium, this u235 permitting an increment of blow out of weapons grade core material reiterating in the raw non fissioned non exploded state to sky and earth. A 10,000 pound depleted uranium tamper (DU) was used in the first hydrogen bomb exploded named IVY MIKE and this tamper by itself, fission exploded in the chain reaction, yielded eight megatons of destructive power as measured in TNT (eight million tons of TNT), the cryogenic liquid deuterium (yielding two megatons) plus the small u235 bomb containing the amount of u235 used in BIG BOY over Heroshima to initiate the fission and chain reaction. It should be mentioned that there are differences in u235 percentages content in depleted uranium. Natural Uranium burned in natural uranium commercial power reactors may produce a depleted uranium with only one third of one percent u235 content the remainder being u238 inert uranium non fissionable. And most DU depleted uranium is manufactured outside of the fission reactor an example being the centrifuges in operation in Iran enriching u235. The more enriched the u235 for commercial power generating reactor use, the more uranium 235 left (half or less) in the depleted uranium DU all the way up to relative weapons grade u235 used for early electricity generating commercial power generators. And in reactor use for commercial power the inert non explosive u238 which comprises 99 percent of natural uranium comprises 99.7 percent of depleted uranium following natural uranium burn for commercial power, not enriched grades of u235 used for commercial power where the u235 content in DU depleted uranium is higher and gets higher and higher the more enrichment. In fact the inert harmless non explosive u238 is changed in the industrial commercial power fission process to pu239 residue. That is where we get plutonium from - from u238 in the commercial electricity generators changed to pu239 residue in the commercial power generator burn power process. The question being in the IVY MIKE bomb most of the explosive value in megatons came from the DU depleted uranium tamper of 10,000 pounds mostly u238 content of inert non fissionable uranium. In the chain reaction of the blowing up of IVY MIKE begun by a bomb using no more u235 weapons grade than BIG BOY u235 bomb used over Heroshima did the inert u238 uranium comprising most of the 10,000 pound DU depleted uranium tamper change to pu239 as it does in reactors and then fission? Or was the depleted uranium high u235 content from relative towards weapons grade u235 used in commercial reactors in the late 1940s and early 1950s. I do not know. I can not find the answer. But maybe I can. The reason for the huge depleted uranium tamper is not known by me but perhaps we were trying to scare the Russians that we could send something like this via submarine into their harbor at Vladivostock. The IVY MIKE hydrogen bomb was actually a building on a small south pacific island and the bomb was the design of Richard Garvin student of Enrico Fermi, on suggestion of Edward Teller. The power generated by this first hydrogen bomb of 10 megatons was just enough to cause the island to disappear for the movie cameras for the newsreels for U.S. public approval. There is some politics with all. It was probably Edward Teller who figured out the variables that would get rid of the island for the movie cameras. And the figures do not really figure out. There is something wrong with the math. There may be something we do not know about. Was IVY MIKE much bigger a bomb than is given but did we want the Russian port at Vladivostock to believe we could deliver IVY MIKE in on a submarine. That it was not that big. How big was Ivy Mike. The math does not really figure out. Or may not figure out. Russia is said to have did that with the U.S. on it's day of military celibration by running it's bombers overhead and having them circle out of site and keep coming back again and again in the celebration, overhead. But probably the U.S. was honest. In an industrial nuclear reactor burn generating electricity for communities there is an abundance of generated slow neutrons and when a slow neutron strikes and atom of inert non explosive u238 (u238 does not fission) the atom of uranium u238 absorbs the slow neutron and turns itself into plutonium pu239 which is highly fissionable. Many spent reactor rods or cores end up as 30 percent pu239 beginning as 100 percent uranium because of this slow neutron striking of the uranium 238. When a fast neutron strikes a u238 atom of uranium fission occurs (the atom of 238 immediately blows up in fission not managing with the fast neutron strike to change into plutonium pu239). This is a natural phenomena. The heat of the average size u235 fission trigger bomb in IVY MIKE caused fusion (heat of the center of the sun) in the cyrogenic liquid deuterium and this fusion generates an abundance of fast neutrons as opposed to slow neutrons. When a fast neutron strikes a u238 atom the atom does not capture the fast neutron (as it captures slow neutrons and changes into pu239) but instead the fast neutron caused by fusion causes fission in the u238 atom and it blows up. Reiterating innert u238 uranium atoms can only capture slow neutrons and convert themselves to pu239 but when hit by a fast neutron u238 atoms which are generally inert become fission uranium (this only happens with fusion which is the inner core heat of the sun which produces fast neutrons causing the fission of innert u238). Thus depleted uranium which is less than half of one percent fissionable u235 and 99.7 percent inert u238 becomes with fusion (the inner heat of the sun) in effect 100 percent u235 or it might be said pu239 and all 10,000 pounds of the IVY MIKE depleted uranium DU tamper was in effect u235 or pu239 in fission value. If one can imagine five hundred 20 pound balls of weapons grade plutonium which is the explosive equivalent of the 8 megaton destructiveness of the 10,000 pound depleted uranium tamper of IVY MIKE. Getting back to fission bombs and putting aside fusion hydrogen bombs both natural uranium and depleted uranium blow up as the chain reaction continues from the weapons grade pu239 core with pure natural uranium providing the more powerful explosion in kt value because it has a higher percentage of u235 than depleted uranium DU. Today the trend for tampers is partially use of light weight Beryllium metal which adds no destructive explosive fission value but does not have the inate problems of natural uranium or depleted uranium (caused by the u235 within both natural uranium and depleted uranium). Uranium tampers have their positives and negatives. The Iranian TEHRAN EXPERIMENTAL REACTOR which was donated to Iran by the United States in the Ronald Regan era could only burn untill the late 1980s weapons grade uranium u235 carefully dispensed to it by the U.S. Then in the late 1980s Argentina for a price re worked (modified) this reactor for Iran so it would burn industrial grade uranium purchasable on the world free market. And Argentina also provided to Iran for a price a large quantity of industrial grade Argentina produced uranium. The early North Korean reactor is similar to the Tehran Experimental reactor in plutonium output and both have had the potential capacity over the years since the latter 1980s to each produce about 30 pounds of plutonium pu239. It is industrial grade pu239 and not as good as weapons grade u239 but the British had no problem exploding it. It is about 80 or 85 percent pure. The Robert Openheimer FAT MAN had no trouble blowing up in fission two pounds of plutonium weapons grade pu239 core yielding 20,000 tons of TNT destructiveness over Nagasaki. And the Robert Oppenheimer FAT MAN will with the same ease blow up two pounds of weapons grade North Korean or Iranian pu239 weapons grade plutonium core and with even medeocre retention of the fission by a mediocre tamper casing the yield of a two pound plutonium pu239 core will be seven kt, maximum 13kt with a more efficient design beryllium tamper, beryllium which does fission and explode and does not augment thus the kt value as a nuclear explosive as does natural uranium or depleted uranium both which explode in the chain reaction in fission. the The Ukraine year 2000 sold to Iran twelve Soviet KENT cruise missiles with a 1,500-2,000 mile range and with nosecone designed for a 200kt nuclear warhead. The government of Ukraine did not know these missiles were being sold to Iran by a seditious Ukranian arms dealer but later say anyway they were badly in need of maintenance and repair. It is not believed even with more powerful modern explosives, light weight beryllium tampers and other modern materials Iran has been able to scale down FAT MAN to functionally fit into the nose cone of the KENT cruise missiles or Iran's balistic missiles. Iran can build the FAT MAN pu239 bomb but presently it will remain sitting on Iranian soil not able to go anywhere. In terms of delivery of a 2 pound plutonium core warhead from Iran to Tel Aviv, Israel in a KENT cruise missile flying a short distance above the ground Israel needs the U.S. F 22 fighter which has a sophisticated radar using doppler effect that can detect an atomic warhead KENT cruise missile at 100 to 150 miles out and move in for a secure kill after the KENT crosses over to the Israel side of the border wherupon at kill the missile will explode with nuclear kt and become a weapon of mass terror. Japan wants the F 22 also and considers it the most prised aircraft in the world. However the U.S. is reluctant to let any go to any nation, Japan and Israel included. Iran when it achieves a nuclear weapon if it does will not preemptively strike Israel with nuclear power as the return punishment would be unbearable from the Israel nuclear arsenal. Then the Fulton County DA who can not be counted as being equal to anyone decent and God fearing was adamant that for the email to the NYS Department of Corrections public web site I be given 90 days in jail for harassing the prison superintendent as somebody at the central office in Albany at the public web site I emailed sent my letter on to her. That I should have known it would go to her. It was not a crime but free speech and was dismissed quickly as words and free speech but the DA knew in the beginning it was not a crime but felt she had to present the hand heil salute and stiff at attention to NYS. The Department of Corrections was trying to get some new security positions approved and felt this action would somehow help but in the end were lost for words why they did it. In early New York State when things were more crimeless this dumping of people's slop over on to the land of others as was done to me by the prison took up eighty percent of the court's time. No one in this case ever wanted more than three quiet evenings per week as was the contract at the beginning - which was broke by the Prison. The free speech is necessary. The non collection of every pound of spent depleted uranium (these being a pound of weapons grade u235 or pu235 equivalents with with use of deuterium - tritium following ignition of the fission compression u235 or pu239 bomb) that was exploded in battle in Iraq signifies personalization in the presidency above the national interests. Manufacturing Deuterium from ocean water or Tritium from Lithium is not a great problem to any nation as is the enrichment of u235 or production of pu239 nor is the construction of the depleted uranium tamper hundreds of thousands of pounds of depleted uranium which sits on the fields and in the mountains in Iraq and Afghanistan difficult. Where are the great military minds. When you leave hundreds of thousands of pounds of pure weapons grade uranium u235 and pure weapons grade plutonium pu239 on the fields of war the enemy is going to kill you. He will find a way to stockpile and hide it, bury it or put it in the caves. It is gold. What kind of a military society are we turning into with a military that is hell bent at any cost oblivious to longer range national interests of security in trying out new weapons and making rank. The U.S. presidents do not know any more about nucear fission and fusion than the ordinary man on the street and they are selected by the betters the electoral college (not the people) who are only 20% as likely to rob a bank as are the common people who are 30% likely. That is presidents are selected solely by the electoral college who will being betters be able to judge better moral character (combined with better intellignce at the same percentage differentials) as who will and who will not rob a bank. All that pure weapons grade u235 uranium and pure weapons grade pu239 rests on the earth and buried in the surface of the earth in Iraq and Afghanistan in the form of u238 depleted uranium DU. The enemy will kill us. That is certainty. There remains one more question about DU depleted uranium, 99.8% percent u238 and .2% u235 produced by enrichment of u235. This is simply the refinement of natural uranium from the ore mountain through enriching the u235 for industrial energy burning, the burning fission reactor generating commercial electricity for nations. This natural uranium, depleted or enriched, contains no plutonium. But there are heavy water reactors that can burn the depleted uranium which can yield profits depending on the capabilities of the reactor, the cost of the depleted uranium fuel and the economy in terms of electricity demand. This burning or fission in the heavy water reactor of fuel 99.8% u238 and .2% u235 produces a relatively abundant quantity of plutonium pu239 as slow nutrons are introduced into the process in heavy water reactor that uranium u238 captures and changes itself into plutonium pu239 from u238. As the burning of u238 produces a lot of plutonium via this process it can only be the case that the depleted uranium with .2% u235 and 99.8% u238 is reprocessed (burned for commercial electricity generation) untill that 2% is nearly spent and the only fissionable element left is plutonium pu239 produced from u238 when reiterating it captures a slow neutron and changes itself to pu239. This reprocessed super depleted uranium void of u235 but with significant pu239 plutonium has been mixed in a percentage with natural depleted uranium devoid of plutonium - it is simply gotten rid of this way into weapons warheads as sometimes plutonium is a problem socially or economically and the depleted natural uranium product of depleted uranium warheads of conventional type is in real natural depleted uranium with reprocessed super depleted uranium which by the slow neutron capture process means significant quantities of u238 have captured slow neutrons and converted themselves to plutonium pu239 (the plutonium is not depleted as the uranium u235 in super depleted uranium. There was no plutonium and now there is). The question presenting is what is meant by a trace of plutonium in the tens of thousands of tons of depleted uranium that lays in Iraq and Afthanistan. As there is a lot more plutonium in the super depleted reprocessed uranium than there is uranium. Thus for there to be a trace only of plutonium means that very little in a percentage figure of super depleted uranium (reprocessed depleted uranium in a heavy water reactor which always begins to contains as the fission continues significant plutonium) was mixed in with the natural depleted uranium not reprocessed (which never contains plutonium) following enrichment of u235. Why would they do this. Why to get rid of it somehow would they add super depleted uranium always high in plutonium to natural depleted uranium never containing plutonium to blow it up in conventional warheads. And why would the U.S. give the enemy any kind of depleted uranium as the enemy can burn it in a reactor for electricity and manufacture via the slow neutron in the fission process of burning it a great quantity of plutonium. The answer may be that storing the high plutonium bearing super depleted uranium is expensive in terms of public demands and hiding it in a conventional weapons warhead is inexpensive by mixing it in to non burn containing no plutonium natural depleted non reprocessed uranium.The Iran ARAK heavy water nuclear reactor has been built to supply the nation with energy burning low grade u235 commercial fuel to the level of natural uranium and natural depleted uranium from the tens of thousands of tons of DU the U.S. left on the battlefields of Iraq and Afghanistan. They do not know where to begin with this plethoric mana from heaven. And it produces a lot of plutonium pu239 - which does not have to be enriched to weapons grade as the British have proved but can be exploded efficiently as is in it's industrial plutonium state.
