The Free Market situation Lariam malaria preventative medicine or Fansidar malaria preventative medicine. It is Lariam versus Fansidar in the 15 round ring. Who will win? No one knows? Better research studies are needed. The people of the Ecuador petrol amazon pay for their own malaria prevention medicine and prefered the cheaper Fansidar when I was down in the Ecuador petro amazon three years ago doing my research survey on malaria medicines carried in the pharmacias. So much so that only Fansidar is sold in the petrol amazon community of Lago Agrio in the many pharmacias. This would suggest the free market population in the petrol amazon does not see that much more value gained from purchasing the 300% more expensive Lariam. This was the situation three years ago I found while in the Ecuador amazon. The free market has decided. The situation three years ago. Not one of the fifteen phamacias had any medicine in stock except Fansidar and all stocked Fansidar. What does this suggest for future studies?                                                                            The malaria mosquito will only breed in potable water whether it smells or not of rotting vegetation. In the amazon basin most water is potable, that not affected negatively by man. The malaria mosquito drops its eggs in very slow current water but enough current to keep it potable clean in terms of a human measurement as applies also to the malarial mosquito. The Falciparum mosquito favors slow moving fresh sweet water being choosey. The lands outside of the Guajaramerins are the capital of the falciparum mosquito. The Guajaramerins of the deep amazon on the Mamore (Madeira) river are the freshest smelling area of the Americas. The eggs of the malaria mosquito in the water will not infect you if drank. Only the bite of the malaria mosquito. The United States has some malaria. About 1,500 cases are reported annually in the U.S. and there are more cases unreported seen as "the bug". The states with the most malaria case reports are California, Texas and New York State. In parts of New York State malaria in history was devistational to human population. With the capability of modern machinery and finances malaria in New York State has been nearly wiped out. Although it will never be totally wiped out. Drained areas build back up with sediment a damming up effect that provided the slow drainage of potable water malaria mosquitos like to drop their eggs in to reproduce themselves. Thus malaria will always be with us to some extent everywhere. Heavy machinery is expensive and in sub sahara Africa with limited monitary resources it is sometimes a losing battle to drain the breeding areas so that they drain quickly when the heavy rains come and there is not slow current drainage. To keep them drained. Soon after the heavy rains stop most breeding areas dry up or the water becomes stagnant with no slow current and the malaria mosquito can not or will not breed. However by month nature is not always predictable. The lands of Tanzania where Cheryl Cole caught malaria this June is for the most part no more malarial than the state of Texas. Yet parts of Tanzania are heavily malarial. And many of those areas are poor areas where the bulldozers have not gone to work draining or not repetitively frequently enough with sediment build up that recreates the original malarial area. Over time sediment will build up and recreated the malarial area. And the average family of four in Tanzania has only about $75.00 per year to allot to medical care. In terms of the malaria season in Tanzania that means at $3.00 per month per person for malaria prevention that totals at about $50.00 per year family of four. That is affordable in the Ecuador petrol amazon. They spend that per month I found out renting an internet as internet rental by the hour is 300 percent higher there than in the non amazon capital of Ecuador, Quito. Tanzanians do not have a lot of money on average. Neither do Ecuadorians but they have a lot more money than Tanzanians. There must be clear cut figures available on the number of malarial cases in every nation by month per 100,000 population, what percentage of that nation constitutes malarial area and where (what areas) "specifically" malaria infection is found in that nation. A good rule would be a malaria area is where over their lifetime more than one half percent of people in the population have been infected by malaria. The United States has no area any longer where over their lifetime more than one half percent of the population has been infected by malaria. The malaria medicine cuts down the number of malaria protozoas that exist in the body after an infective mosquito bite. This helps the body to throw off the disease before full blown malaria occurs. Thus no malaria. And if a person is infected this medicine again goes to work cutting down the number of malaria protozoas in the body so that the body can fight better the full blown malaria. That is the way it works. She returned from Tanzania June 22 with a reported megasmile. Prima faci on the average she was infected then mid June. Some years June may be cutting it close in Tanzania. Which is a month after the mid month of May close of the Tanzania malaria season. That does not mean malaria season can not last late or begin early. I recommend going by the books and staying off of malaria medicine giving your body  rest during low risk months. But there remains a chance of catching it not by the books. In the Ecuador petrol amazon the prevention costs monthly during the malaria season $3.00 per person per month. That is a lot of money in Tanzania. More affordable in the amazon. Malaria medicine should not be taken 12 months of the year but malaria is catchable to some degree all 12 monts of the year. SSimply use common sense. But you can not always do that.)                                                                            A PROOF OF LIFE. This is big time stuff the FARC. So is Malaria in Africa. Malaria is not a big problem in the Ecuador petrol amazon. The medicine used here exclusively 2007 Fansidar. During the four high rate malaria months the cost will be only $3.00 per person per month the medicne purchasable at the pharmacias. It is purchasable at the same amount the other eight months but give your body a rest, there is not much chance of being malaria infected these eight months. It is when the mosquitos that carry the malaria protozoa, including the falciparum, are thick that the danger is considerable. The Fansidar is also good for the cure if a person catches malaria. What Fansidar does is reduce the protozoa load so in the first place the load is at a level the body natural immunity can counter it without it infecting. And secondly if a person does become infected it reduces the protozoa load so the malaria can be thrown off. One quickly gains insight that per ten thousand population the U.S. alone is sending more malaria medicine to Africa that is spent by private individuals on malaria medicine and treatment per ten thousand population in the Ecuador amazon and based on the continuing high malaria rates prima faci in Africa hardly a penny is getting through. It probably ends up back in U.S. Senator slush funds? Or someones slush fund or swimming pool or Mercedes. That is the way prima faci it looks. There is a site on Google page one recommending Africa malaria be studied only in africa and other world areas left out. But malaria is malaria. Africa malaria is no different than Amazon malaria. The money is not getting through to Africa prima faci. Although the U.S. sends it. Malaria is no longer a big problem in the amazon per ten thousand population on the scope of Africa per ten thousand. The writer could fix it up quickly. The heads would roll. The only answer is to give a U.S. subsidy to persons in Africa malaria areas (most are not malaria areas) of $3.00 per person per month for the four months of the year malaria during any year is at a high rate. And give the small Africa stores and farmacies a commission of $.50 on each $3.00 box of Fansidar they sell to individuals. How much cheaper is that. It is much cheaper. And people get the money directly without the middleman. And money is not spent everywhere across the African land. Much of the Amazon and South America has no Malaria to speak of. The same with Africa. Money is going to the middle man like all of sub sahara Africa is malaria infected. It is far from the case. And what happens to this money?. The FARC across the Putamayo river in the Columbia putamayo river basin as opposed to the other side of the river in the Ecuador putamayo river basin, is also big. They closed down the Panther in Lago Agrio, a cantina similar to the cantina in the movie FIRE ON THE AMAZON with Sandra Bullock and Craig Scheffer. My understanding from Lago Agrio is they feared privateers with a U.S. Stealth bomber at night would be coming down. It would give Lago Agrio a bad reputation. And two opposite sides of the walls were honeycombed anyway with bullet holes from the FARC and Ecuador military that sat at tables on opposite sides. It has reappeared by a different name. This was when I was there three years ago. Nine months later the second in command of FARC the communist Raul Reyes was killed 35 miles from Lago Agrio, Ecuador on the banks of the Ecuador side of the putamayo river. Yet I have heard it two versions. The first is that Columbia military crossed the Putamayo and killed him on the Ecuador banks and the other version is Columbia jets were seen to drop on the Columbia side of the putamayo and killed him sleeping in a hammock. The first news out of Bogata Columbia was that Columbia crossed the putamayo river into Ecuador. Such a crossing is not taken lightly by Ecuador that nation adamant on restricting FARC actions in Ecuador to Ecuador. Both versions are in my head. Probably the early Bogata version is the correct version. The FARC is communist and its function is to remain on the flank of Panama and the canal as Hizbollah remains on the flank of Israel. Thus it will never be possible politics as they are to close the Panama canal to China. That is the way it works. The FARC is here to stay. The problem is to keep it from running over Bogata. I like the Lago Agrio area. It is serene and the air good. I would like to raise a few cattle there. A very small farm or ranch. I am age 69 and although I have not been to a doctor in twenty years no one really knows. It makes me think I can marry and raise another family. I am beginning to work on my Spanish right now as there are the oil options of the big petrol companies on Ecuador jungle basin lands. It has to improve. One wonders what we are doing in Iraq and Afghanistan anyway when we have excitement here in the Americas. Can have some fun. Saddam after Gulf War 1 with the restrictions was pumping illegal oil into the pipe line and gas was $1.50 per gallon. Then came Gulf War 2 and the end of Saddam and cheap petrol. In Afghanistan we knew if we had a war we would have to get Osama at Torro Borro at the beginning with his troops untill he retreated to Buzai Gumabad in the Little Pamer Mountains in the vah khan corridor of Afthanistan by China where Israel newspaper Debka File the voice of Mossad tells us he is at, where U.S. troops are not permitted by China and where he is protected by China troops. There was never more than a ten percent chance we would get Osama Bin Laden at Torro Borro and once he got out of there never a chance we would get him. But it all enable the generals to make rank and try out new weapons like the Daisy Cutter. The military should not be running the U.S. They have botch minds for just about everything. A ten percent chance is not acceptable soldier. Something better had to be figured out with the CIA. And Saddam should have been left forever pumping his cheap and illegal petrol into the pipes. Saddam was irrelevant if Osama Bin Laden was killed or captured. We wagged the tail of the dog so the generals could make rank and try out new weapons. Where has it got us. We are not anywheres.                                                                                 I surveyed 15 Farmacias In Lago Agrio to see if they carried Lariam a favored U.S. malaria medicine. None do. Exclusively they use Fansidar a malaria medicine very cheap and effective at both prevention and curing malaria by reducing the protozoa load but is said to have some side effects. Lariam although cheap enough is far outdone in cost by much cheaper Fansidar. The Ecuador income is not high. Settle here and settle on using Fansidar. It is probably not worth it traveling to Quito for Lariam as Fansidar is the work horse of this area of Ecuador and does well in keeping malaria infection low and in curing malaria infections when they occur. Most likely there are a few clinics in Lago Agrio where you can put in an order for Lariam. I may settle with a small cattle ranch in the Ecuador petrol amazon, Putamayor river basin if I can not find reasonably priced coffee land in Antigua Guatemal area. The Lago Agrio area of the Putamayo river basin is very serene and relaxed. I was disappointed no movie action (PROOF OF LIFE) and the FARC. I have read some months later, that I was there in the south Putamayo river basin in April-May 2007, that on the north bank of the Putamayo river a few miles to the north from where I was in Lago Agrio, Ecuador those few miles north which is in Columbia, jet fighters of that nation were seen to drop and killed the second in FARC command, Raul Reyes, sleeping in his hammock on the north bank of the river. I have also read it that Columbia troops surged over the putamayo river to the Ecuador bank where they killed him. In any case the spot is 35 miles from Lago Agrio. There was a cantina, the Panther, here in Lago Agrio now shut down, no different than the one you see in the movie FIRE ON THE AMAZON with Sandra Bullock and Craig Scheffer. All cantinas are the same in the Amazon. The FARC sat on one side and the military on the other and the building was close to collapse honeycomed by bullet holes in the walls. Then a rumor spread I am told that CIA operatives were coming down on the cantina from Columbia in stealth bombers in a night operation. It closed down. It has been replaced.                                                                                                                (All my work is correct.
